Jeremiah James, a 15-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on June 8, 2020, in Chicago, IL. The incident occurred in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood on the Far South Side of Chicago. Jeremiah was found with a gunshot wound to the head around 9:47 p.m. in the 13000 block of South Ellis Avenue. He was immediately taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Cook County medical examiner's office ruled his death a homicide.
