Marqueese Hampton, a 25-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on September 30, 2020, in the 5600 block of South Wood Street in the Englewood neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. The incident occurred while Hampton and another man were running away from two other men. Hampton was struck in the torso and leg and was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital. The other man, who was shot in the leg, left the scene on his own and did not seek medical treatment at a hospital.
