On October 15, 2020, 24-year-old Sherrod Taylor was fatally shot in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the basement of a residence he shared with his mother's boyfriend, Steven Johnson. According to Cook County prosecutors, an argument erupted between Taylor and Johnson over loud music, leading to Johnson feeling disrespected. This confrontation escalated, resulting in Johnson shooting Taylor.
