Daniel Kinney, a 24-year-old male from Elmwood, Illinois, was found dead on March 15, 2021, in Springfield, Illinois. The Springfield Police Department responded to a call at around 9:09 p.m. reporting that someone had kicked in the back door of a residence on Griffiths Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Daniel Kinney on the back porch with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon.
