In the Canton neighborhood of Baltimore, the holiday season of 2008 was tragically marked by violence for the family of Alaina Ciara High. A 22-year-old Black or African American female, her life was cut short on Tuesday, December 23, 2008. On that day, in the 800 block of South Bouldin Street, High was fatally shot in the head.
