Nykayia Strawder, a 15-year-old girl from Baltimore, Maryland, tragically lost her life on August 6, 2022. Nykayia was shot and killed while sitting on her family's front porch in Edmondson Village. The incident occurred when a 9-year-old boy, who was showing off a gun, accidentally discharged the weapon, striking Nykayia in the head. The gun was owned by a relative of the boy, who worked as a security officer.
