In the winter of 2009, the life of a young Black man, Lougene Olond 3rd Williams, was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. On the evening of January 4th, residents of the 4000 block of Chesmont Avenue were startled by the sound of gunshots. When they ventured outside, they discovered the 20-year-old Williams lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to his right shoulder.
He was rushed to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he died later that night.
