Lashawnda Bowser, a 36-year-old African American woman from Rockford, Illinois, tragically lost her life on October 17, 2021. She was found with life-threatening injuries in her car outside her home on Lori Drive, having been shot by her ex-husband, Charles Cowart. Despite being transported to a local hospital, Lashawnda succumbed to her injuries.
