On November 13, 2021, Taita Johnson, a 31-year-old African American woman from Danville, Illinois, was found dead in a Riverside apartment. The Riverside Police Department responded to a report of a possible burglary at an apartment located at 63 Forest Avenue around 1 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered two unresponsive individuals inside the apartment.
