Darrell Russell, a 28-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on the evening of November 13, 2021, in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. He was found with a gunshot wound to his chest around 7:10 p.m. in the 5000 block of West Washington Boulevard. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. The incident was part of a violent weekend in Chicago, where multiple shootings occurred, resulting in several fatalities and injuries.
