On a summer evening in Cumberland County, Tennessee, the life of 35-year-old Jack Daniel Carter of Sparta came to a tragic and violent end. On August 6, 2024, sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at a residence. Inside the home, they discovered Carter, a male, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office secured the scene and promptly launched a joint investigation with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to piece together
the events that led to the fatal shooting. Carter's body was transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Nashville for an autopsy to officially determine the cause of death.
