Rudy Cruz Martinez, a 22-year-old Latino male, tragically lost his life on November 18, 2021, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the Brighton Park neighborhood, a community on the southwest side of the city. Rudy was fatally shot while eating a hamburger inside a car at approximately 11:53 p.m. His family has emphasized that he was not involved in any gang activities and was simply an innocent victim of the rampant gun violence plaguing the city.
