Derrick Woods Jr., an 18-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 4, 2021, in Chicago, IL. The incident occurred in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. Derrick was traveling in a vehicle with a 33-year-old man when another vehicle pulled up alongside them, and someone inside opened fire.
