Jermaine Waterman, a 49-year-old African American man, was found dead on April 13, 2022, in his apartment in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. Initially, the incident appeared to be a tragic house fire, but upon further investigation, it was revealed that Jermaine had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
