Denzell Franklin, a 23-year-old African American man, was tragically killed on October 24, 2014, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the South Austin neighborhood, where Franklin and another man, aged 24, were standing in a courtyard in the 5500 block of West Corcoran Place. Around 10 p.m., someone approached them and fired shots, hitting Franklin in the face and armpit.
