On February 12, 2022, 16-year-old Dillon Viens was fatally shot while spending time with friends at a residence on Cedar Street in Johnston, Rhode Island. Initially, authorities classified the incident as an accidental shooting. However, following a comprehensive investigation, the Rhode Island State Medical Examiner's Office determined that Viens' death was a homicide.
