Ernest Durham, a 40-year-old African American man from Decatur, Illinois, tragically lost his life on April 23, 2022, due to multiple gunshot wounds. The incident occurred on a Saturday night in the 700 block of West Grand Avenue, where Durham and two other individuals were shot. The Macon County Coroner, Michael Day, confirmed that Durham succumbed to his injuries from gunshot wounds to the back.
