Jalen Mimms, a 17-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on May 13, 2022, in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 7:25 p.m. while Jalen was near the sidewalk in the 6900 block of South Ada Street. According to the Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office, Jalen suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and armpit area.
