Durand Lee, a 42-year-old African American male, was found dead in his home on July 15, 2022, in Chicago, Illinois. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office ruled his death a suicide, caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Lee was an officer with the Chicago Police Department (CPD), and his death was part of a troubling trend of suicides within the department.
