The incident occurred in Beach Park, where the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies did not find any victims at the scene but later discovered a vehicle with three individuals, including Christopher Williams, who had been shot. Williams was transported to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan in critical condition but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the shooting took place in the parking lot of a business in a strip mall. Christopher Williams and two other victims, a man and a woman, met the suspect in the parking lot. An argument ensued, leading the suspect to fire multiple shots at the victims while they were in their vehicle. The suspect fled the scene, and the victims also attempted to escape in their vehicle.
