Romell Avila, a 31-year-old man from Chicago, IL, was fatally shot on December 8, 2022, in the Douglas neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. According to reports, Avila was standing on a sidewalk in the 100 block of East 28th Street when a gray SUV pulled up just before 9 a.m. Two men exited the vehicle and began arguing with Avila before opening fire and shooting him multiple times. Avila was subsequently taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. ...
