Romell Avila, a 31-year-old man from Chicago, IL, was fatally shot on December 8, 2022, in the Douglas neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. According to reports, Avila was standing on a sidewalk in the 100 block of East 28th Street when a gray SUV pulled up just before 9 a.m. Two men exited the vehicle and began arguing with Avila before opening fire and shooting him multiple times.
