Death by Force

Dontevion Gates, a 17-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on August 25, 2019, in the Chatham neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The incident occurred around 3:33 a.m. when Gates was among a group of 30 to 40 people gathered in the 8200 block of South Maryland Avenue. Shots were fired from an unknown direction, striking Gates in the neck and back. He was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
