In the early morning hours of April 17, 1964, a day that would leave a lasting scar on Gwinnett County, 52-year-old Officer Marvin Jesse Gravitt, a male, found himself feeling unwell. His partners, Officer Jerry Everett and Officer Ralph Davis, were giving him a ride home when a call came in about suspicious activity on Arc Way, a rural road near Norcross at the time. The three officers, dedicated to their duty, detoured to investigate the report, a decision that would lead to a tragic end.
