In the fall of 1985, the city of Atlanta was grappling with a series of violent crimes that instilled fear within the community. It was during this tense period, on October 20, 1985, that the body of a young man was discovered in a desolate, abandoned apartment building on Harwell Street. The victim was identified as Daryl O. Williams, a 20-year-old African American male. An investigation into his death determined that he had been killed by a single gunshot wound to the back of his head.
