In the winter of 1986, a tragic event unfolded in Colquitt County, Georgia, that ended the life of a dedicated law enforcement officer. Tony Reed Wilder, a 43-year-old male Deputy Sheriff, was killed in the line of duty on Friday, January 31, 1986. On that day, Deputy Wilder, along with several of his fellow deputies, was attempting to serve a committal warrant on a man.
