Robert James Ingram, a 24-year-old White male, was a Cobb County police officer whose life ended just after midnight on July 13, 1993, in Marietta, Georgia, during what began as a routine check on a suspicious person near the railroad tracks in the Elizabeth area. He was on patrol when he approached a man dressed in dark clothing and carrying a bag, trying to find out who he was and what he was doing there.
