In the quiet hours of a summer morning in Atlanta, a devastating tragedy unfolded, leaving a family shattered and a community in shock. On July 12, 1999, 9-year-old Antuan Lucas, a Black male, was among six family members who lost their lives in a brutal act of domestic violence. The horrific event was set in motion when Antuan's mother, 33-year-old Deleane Briskey, decided to end her relationship with her boyfriend, Cyrano Marks.
