Kathryn Johnston, a 92-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed on November 21, 2006, in her home in Atlanta, Georgia. The incident occurred during a botched drug raid conducted by undercover police officers. Johnston had lived in her home on Neal Street for 17 years. On the evening of the raid, officers Jason R. Smith, Gregg Junnier, and Arthur Tesler, dressed in plainclothes and equipped with bulletproof vests and riot shields, forcibly entered her home using a no-knock warrant.
