In what was described as an apparent accidental shooting in College Park, Georgia, a young man's life was cut short. Gerson Eusebe, a 23-year-old male, died at the scene on a Saturday after a pistol he was handling discharged. The incident involved another young man, Tequan Joseph, who was 23 at the time and had recently purchased the firearm.
According to Clayton police, the fatal event unfolded as the pistol was being passed between the two men. Eusebe reportedly grabbed the muzzle of the gun that Joseph was handing to him, at which point the weapon 'just went off'. The single shot proved to be fatal for Eusebe. The tragic event quickly turned into a criminal investigation, leading to the involvement of law enforcement.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Tequan Joseph was taken into custody. He faced multiple charges, including involuntary manslaughter in connection with Gerson Eusebe's death. In addition to the manslaughter charge, authorities also charged Joseph with possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and second-degree forgery. The forgery charge stemmed from the discovery of six counterfeit $20 bills by the police during their investigation.
