In the late hours of a September 2014 evening in Atlanta, Georgia, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. Tabaris Sheats, a 19-year-old African American male, was walking with a female friend along Campbellton Road when they were confronted by a group of men. An argument earlier in the day had set the stage for this fateful encounter. The confrontation quickly escalated to violence as one of the men shot Sheats in the leg.
