On the night of October 15, 2014, a burst of gunfire in the parking lot of an Atlanta apartment complex on Memorial Drive shattered the evening calm and ended the life of 30-year-old Michael Edwards. The male victim, a Black father of two young sons, was caught in an eruption of violence that also claimed the life of 37-year-old Derrick McGinty and left a third man wounded.
