Valantine Dwight Gant Jr., a 26-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on June 6, 2015, in Savannah, Georgia. Gant was fatally shot while sitting in his car at an apartment complex on Edgewater Road. The incident occurred during an aborted drug deal, where Gant was set up by individuals he believed to be his friends. The bullet that killed Gant also struck his 3-year-old son, who was seated in the passenger seat, but fortunately, the child survived the ordeal.
