Herbert Lee Perkinson, a 49-year-old Black male from Emerson, Georgia, was tragically murdered on January 17, 2016. On that day, Perkinson was kidnapped from his home and later found shot on the side of Interstate 75 south, just north of Exit 277 in Cherokee County, Georgia. He was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after being discovered. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been actively seeking information regarding his murder, but the case remains unsolved.
