Owen James Hicks, a 20-year-old male from Rome, Georgia, tragically passed away on June 2, 2016. The incident occurred at a residence on Bell's Ferry Road, where Owen and his friend, Cody Throneberry, were reportedly playing with a 9mm pistol. The firearm accidentally discharged, striking Owen in the face. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Owen succumbed to his injuries three days later.
