Malik Jackson, an 18-year-old Black male, was killed in Savannah on August 1, 2016, after gunfire shattered the afternoon at Lamarville Park near ACL Boulevard and Adams Avenue. Police said he was found shot just before 3:00 p.m. at the park, close to the playground, and the scene quickly turned from an ordinary summer day into a homicide investigation. In the days that followed, the case moved from uncertainty to a named suspect. Investigators said Williams was believed to have access to a black 2011 Toyota Camry and a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, that he was known to frequent the Tatemville and Lamarville areas, and that he might also have fled toward Atlanta.
