Luz Mariana Matheu, a 43-year-old Hispanic woman, tragically lost her life on October 1, 2016, in Atlanta, GA. Luz was working as a cab driver for OK Taxi when she encountered David Garcia-Mendoza, a 21-year-old man who was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Garcia-Mendoza attempted to pay for his taxi ride with drugs, which Luz refused. This refusal led to a heated argument, during which Garcia-Mendoza placed a gun to Luz's head and forced her to drive.
