In the summer of 2017, the life of 26-year-old Brittani Brown was cut short in a burst of violence that echoed a deeper, more complex story of crime and retribution in Savannah, Georgia. On June 6, police were called to a residence in the 600 block of West 42nd Street, where they found Ms. Brown and a man, Tony Stevens, suffering from gunshot wounds.
