In a tragic turn of events on an August afternoon in 2017, Solomon Williams, a 58-year-old man, lost his life while protecting his family in their Union City, Georgia, home. Williams was at his front door, engaged in the simple task of repairing it, when an armed individual attempted to force his way inside. A struggle ensued as Williams fought to keep the intruder out, a valiant effort that ended in gunfire. He was shot through the very door he was trying to secure.
