In a tragic turn of events on a Monday afternoon, 17-year-old Chevelle Velle Thompson, a male resident of Union City, Georgia, was fatally shot and killed on April 16, 2018. The incident unfolded as Thompson was walking to a convenience store located at the intersection of High Point Road and Roosevelt Highway. He was shot twice during the encounter. Following the shooting, someone transported Thompson back to a residential neighborhood in an attempt to get him help. Despite the efforts of neighbors who tried to apply pressure to his wounds until paramedics arrived, Thompson succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the homicide led Union City police to identify and arrest two suspects. Within hours of the shooting, police apprehended 19-year-old Isaiah Turner. The following day, a second suspect, 18-year-old Tre Graham, was also taken into custody. Law enforcement officials have suggested that the motive behind the fatal shooting appears to be an 'ongoing dispute.'
Both Isaiah Turner and Tre Graham are facing serious charges in connection with Chevelle Thompson's death. The charges filed against them include murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Following their arrests, both men were booked into the Fulton County Jail. They both waived their initial court appearances.
