Freddie Joe King, a 54-year-old African American male from Baxley, Georgia, tragically lost his life on August 13, 2017. The incident occurred at approximately 11:03 PM when officers from the Baxley Police Department and the Appling County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about shots being fired at a Clay Homes apartment. Upon arrival, they discovered that Freddie Joe King, along with two other individuals, had been shot. King succumbed to his injuries shortly after the incident.
