In the late summer of 2017, the discovery of a body in a wooded area behind the Macon State Farmers Market launched a brief but somber investigation. On Sunday, August 27, 2017, authorities were called to a makeshift campsite near Eisenhower Parkway after a person was found deceased. The initial scene offered few immediate answers, as the body had been there for some time, making identification difficult at first.
