In the early morning hours of Thursday, October 12, 2017, the sound of gunshots echoed through the quiet streets of Fort Gaines, Georgia. When police were dispatched to a residence at 206 College Street at approximately 1:05 a.m., they discovered a grim scene. Inside the home, two men lay dead, the victims of a double homicide that would leave the small community searching for answers. The deceased were identified as 34-year-old Manuelito Jackson and 29-year-old Charlie Smith.
