In a tragic turn of events that began as a dispute between friends, 28-year-old Vincent D. Junior, a male, lost his life in a shooting on January 13, 2018, in Warner Robins, Georgia. The incident unfolded around 6:00 p.m. at the Tanglewood Apartments on Elberta Road, where Junior was found with fatal gunshot wounds. Initially, police believed the shooting stemmed from an argument between Junior and someone he knew, though a detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available.
The investigation into Junior's death led to the arrest of Daniel Bruce Franz. Witnesses testified that Junior and Franz, who had been friends for years, were arguing in the living room of the apartment because Junior wanted marijuana from Franz. The argument escalated when Junior allegedly followed Franz into the kitchen with a gun and took a bag of marijuana from him. After Junior returned to the living room and reportedly bragged about taking the drugs, Franz emerged from the back of the house and shot Junior three times before fleeing the scene.
In July 2019, a judge sentenced Daniel Bruce Franz for his role in Vincent Junior's death. After being convicted on charges of voluntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a felon, Franz was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
