On a quiet Sunday afternoon, the life of 44-year-old Miguel Osorio was tragically cut short in a violent home invasion in Lawrenceville, Georgia. On March 18, 2018, two unidentified men disguised in construction attire and armed with guns, forced their way into the Osorio family residence on Scholar Drive. The assailants proceeded to tie up Miguel, his wife, and their adult daughter, creating a scene of terror within the suburban home.
In a desperate act of courage, Miguel Osorio managed
to break free from his restraints, a decision that ultimately cost him his life as one of the intruders fired a fatal shot. The two men immediately fled the home, firing more shots towards the house as they made their escape. Fortunately, no one else in the family was physically harmed during the chaotic departure. Witnesses reported seeing the gunmen flee in a gold or tan SUV, driven by a third accomplice who had been waiting outside.
The Gwinnett County Police Department launched a homicide investigation, piecing together the events of that tragic afternoon. They later identified the getaway vehicle as a pewter or gray Chevrolet Tahoe, model year 2000-2006, and appealed to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of the three suspects involved.
