Charles Christopher Patterson, a 28-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on October 7, 2018, in Montrose, Georgia. The incident occurred during an argument between Patterson and his 65-year-old grandfather, Ervin Blash. The altercation escalated, resulting in Blash fatally shooting Patterson. The Laurens County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and subsequently arrested Blash, charging him with the murder of his grandson.
