In the fall of 2018, the life of 21-year-old Willian Tunchez was tragically cut short in Suwanee, Georgia. A Hispanic male, Tunchez was last seen by his family on the evening of October 7th after dropping his sibling off at their Lawrenceville home. He had mentioned plans to visit another family member, but he never arrived. His father, concerned by the uncharacteristic lack of communication, reported him missing the following day.

The unfortunate discovery was made on October 8th when a group of children found Tunchez's body on a walking trail behind a home on Northcliff Drive. His car was found parked a short distance away. An autopsy would later confirm that Tunchez had died from a gunshot wound, and his death was officially ruled a homicide. Investigators believed he was killed on the evening of October 7th.

The investigation into Tunchez's death quickly led to the identification of three teenage suspects: 17-year-old Franecha Torres, 17-year-old Nicholas Evans, and 18-year-old Khalil Miller. Police determined that the motive for the killing was a robbery that had been orchestrated as a setup. It is not believed that the suspects and the victim knew each other prior to the incident. One of the suspects reportedly lived in the same neighborhood where the crime occurred, which likely contributed to their familiarity with the area.

According to arrest warrants, Torres was accused of luring Tunchez to the location where he was ultimately killed by Evans. Following the shooting, Torres allegedly stole Tunchez's phone and other personal belongings. The investigation connected the three teenagers to a string of other armed robberies in the Suwanee area, suggesting a wider crime spree. Based on a tip received by law enforcement, investigators were able to identify one of the suspects, which in turn led them to the other two. All three were arrested and faced charges of felony murder. In addition, Torres was charged with three counts of armed robbery, while Evans and Miller each faced two counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault.
