On August 27, 2023, 16-year-old Juan Angel Montes and his 23-year-old sister, Maria Rosaria Montes Dorantes, were found dead from gunshot wounds in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The bodies were discovered in the grass near the intersection of Interstate 85 and Interstate 985 around 7:30 p.m. by a passerby who had pulled over due to car trouble and made the gruesome discovery.
