Lachica Ringwood, a 39-year-old African American woman, was found dead on June 3, 2019, in her apartment in Buford, Georgia. The Gwinnett County Police Department ruled her death a murder-suicide. Lachica was discovered alongside her boyfriend, 40-year-old Jamaya Morris, who was also deceased. The police were called to perform a welfare check after Lachica's family expressed concern, having not heard from her for a couple of days, which was unusual.
