Samuel Tatum, a 13-year-old Black male from Columbus, Georgia, was caught in a terrible blur of violence on the night of January 17, 2020, when police responded to a shooting and found him wounded by a gunshot to the head in the street. He was rushed to the hospital, but the injury was catastrophic. He was pronounced dead on Monday, January 20, after being admitted early that Saturday morning.
