He was not alone in death; his wife, 67-year-old Janet Samuels, and their 47-year-old daughter, Kotwang De'Shasta Childs, were also discovered, all victims of gunshot wounds.

The focus of their inquiry quickly turned to Caesar Crockett, who was identified as the boyfriend of Janet's sister. According to reports, the violence erupted after Crockett assaulted his girlfriend.
